What is Indian Head Massage?

    What happens when I go for an Indian Head Massage treatment?

    A full medical history will be taken and you will be asked to sign a consent form agreeing to the treatment. All information will be kept confidentially.

    You will be seated in a chair and the therapist will ensure your comfort before commencing. You will also be asked to remove any obtrusive jewellery, brush your hair to remove any residues of hair products and remove any facial make up. If you have long hair you may be asked to tie it back. The therapist will then use their hands and fingers and a variety of massage techniques. A variety of oils may also be used during the treatment process. These will be selected to suit your individual needs. Some areas may feel slightly tender when pressed but this will pass. The general experience should feel relaxing.

    The therapist will talk to you at the end of the treatment and will ask for your feedback. They will discuss with you their recommendations about further treatments and will give specific aftercare advice to aid the healing process.

    How will I feel?

    After one or two treatments, most people report an improved sense of wellbeing and experience a feeling of deep relaxation.
